Iran Reports Widespread Damage to Schools in US-Israeli Attacks
Speaking at a press conference, Mohajerani stated that the repairs to these educational facilities will take between two to three months.
In addition to the schools, she reported extensive damage to civilian infrastructure, with 125,640 civilian units affected. This includes the destruction of 100,000 homes, 20,500 shops, and 339 health centers. The rebuilding process for these civilian units is projected to take anywhere from three to 24 months, depending on the severity of the damage.
Mohajerani also highlighted that citizens whose homes were destroyed in the attacks could access housing loans to help with reconstruction efforts.
Since the onset of the US-Israeli airstrikes on February 28, more than 3,000 people have been killed in Iran. In retaliation, Tehran launched strikes on Israel, Iraq, Jordan, and Gulf nations hosting US military assets. A two-week ceasefire was announced earlier this week, although a subsequent round of talks between Iranian and US delegations in Islamabad, which lasted 21 hours, ended without an agreement.
